New Parental Leave: Up to 20 Weeks Paid | Stellar Finance Group
Are you and your partner expecting a baby before 1st July? Starting from 1st July 2023, the current entitlement of 18 weeks of paid parental leave can be combined with the 2 weeks of dad and partner pay entitlement, allowing couples to claim up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave between them. Single parents at the time of their claim can also access the full 20 weeks, which is pretty cool. These changes affect employees whose baby is born or placed in their care on or after 1st July 2023. Other exciting changes include allowing partnered employees to receive a maximum of 20 weeks of paid leave between them, with each partner taking at least two weeks, except in certain circumstances. Additionally, a $350,000 family income limit, indexed annually from 1st July 2024, will apply for taking paid parental leave. Contact me at Stellar Finance Group for more details.
